Choosing gender is never a “human rights” issue – it is simply a matter of “preferences” for individuals. In contrast, denying a child his or her gender is a human rights issue.
As a recent development in Canada reveals, redefining marriage renders gender meaningless, which paves the way for fringe gender “issues” to become mainstream.
Once again proving itself a hotbed of gender insanity and a black hole for once-recognised rights, a Canadian parent is fighting to keep “their” child’s gender off the public record.
According to the BBC, Kori Doty is determined to keep the gender of “their” biological child, Searyl Atli, off the public record. Thus far, the child was issued a health card with the letter “U” in the gender section, presumably to denote unspecified.
Doty “themself” has quite the history with politically-correct “gender” practices: Doty identifies as a “non-binary transgender person”, insists on being addressed with the pronoun “they”, and is involved with the Gender Free ID Coalition. It recently became a hate crime in Canada to refer to someone using the incorrect gender pronoun, showing how free speech is directly affected in conforming to radical gender ideology.
Doty, or “they” expressed concerns about “assigning” a gender based on biology, giving the reason that do so could be restrictive for the child when they grow older.
"When I was born, doctors looked at my genitals and made assumptions about who I would be, and those assignments followed me and followed my identification throughout my life," Kori Doty said.
"Those assumptions were incorrect, and I ended up having to do a lot of adjustments since then."
As Global News reported, the child was born outside the medical system, which enabled the parent to “free” their child from the constraints of a “genital inspection”.
“We’re not actually asking to have anyone’s ID changed against their will. We’re just asking to change the structure of how identification, particularly the birth certificate, starts out,” Doty said.
The request is to make a fringe issue – a parent’s wish to raise their child as non-binary – into a mainstream one, by “changing the structure” of how people are identified.
According to Doty, it is up to the child to “discover” their gender identity. Doty told Global News what “they” say when asked if the child is a boy or a girl:
“Often I’ll just say I don’t know yet, or I’m not rushing to apply those types of labels on this kid. Right now they’re just a baby.”
Doty’s lawyer barbara findlay – yes, you read it right – refuses to use capital letters in her name. findlay said birth certificates in British Columbia only allow a designated gender of male or female. This would be restrictive for the child, if you believe what Doty told CBC:
"I'm raising Searyl in in such a way that until they have the sense of self and command of vocabulary to tell me who they are, I'm recognising them as a baby and trying to give them all the love and support to be the most whole person that they can be outside of the restrictions that come with the boy box and the girl box."
In countries where marriage is redefined, the simple act of recognising a child’s biological sex is considered somehow oppressive. Taking advantage of the road paved by marriage redefinition, transgender activists have warped the concept of gender so far from simple biological truth, that they feel constrained by scientific reality.
Kori Doty is right. This is a human rights issue for the child. The child is being denied its human right to an identity in favour of the parent’s preferences. No matter what struggles Kori Doty had while growing up, it is no excuse to impose unreasonable gender ideology on “their” children.
As this story shows, encouraged by the unquestioned success of the same-sex marriage lobby campaigning for ever-increasing rights in Canada, the transgender community is making similar efforts to enforce legal change on the rest of society. This trend will continue to spread across the world if we do not use reason and logic to speak out against it.
The “theys” and “zirs” of the transgender lobby delusively claim that “gender preferences” is a matter of human rights – but we know that is bollocks. After all, the child around which this whole issue revolves, isn’t even old enough to have developed gender preferences. While being forced to refer to individuals with plural pronouns and not using capital letters for a name sounds ridiculous, such lunacies are direct consequences of redefining marriage.
